Furniture startup Staxxiom has unveiled its new “no tools, no hassle” furniture products, a line of patented, click-to-assemble furnishings built from natural, eco-friendly materials. Founded in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Richard Langone and Leilei Peng, Staxxiom aims to provide affordable, high-quality and easy-to-assemble furniture. According to the startup, its patented click-to-assemble technology requires no tools or additional hardware for setup for “stress-free” assembly. The brand also prioritizes sustainability and claims that every Staxxiom piece can last over 20 years.
“In addition to empowering buyers to build their own furniture quickly and easily, staxxiom enables them to help reverse the ecologically disastrous trend of cheap, single-use, particle board–based furniture, which often ends up in the dump after a year or two of use,” the startup explained. “According to the EPA, close to 10,000 tons of furniture goes to landfills every year in the United States alone.” Staxxiom’s products are designed with FSC-certified wood, non-toxic finishes, sustainably sourced materials and high-density fiberboard that meets the E1 adhesive rating to ensure low formaldehyde off-gassing.
Staxxiom’s market launch on Kickstarter will include a collection of seven products ranging from stools and side tables to cabinets and a coffee table. All furnishings feature a minimalist and timeless aesthetic to stay functionally relevant for years and to suit a variety of settings. The furnishings are also engineered to support very heavy weights. For instance, the Kailua stool, which is the smallest item in the collection, can support up to 500 pounds.
