Premier Inn prepares for Welsh reopening | Article

Premier Inn is preparing to reopen its hotels in Wales ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.

The hotel chain will open 29 of its sites in the country, though hotels are set to only be open for Welsh residents.

Due to hotels being one of the first hospitality services to reopen this weekend, Premier Inn’s restaurant services will not be available until Welsh hospitality’s full reopening later this spring.

Among the sites set to open are hotels in Aberystwyth, Bangor, Barry, Bridgend and Cardiff.

First minister Mark Drakeford announced he will clarify Wales’ ‘roadmap’ for leaving lockdown tomorrow (1 April).

Simon Ewins, Premier Inn’s managing director, said: “It’s safe to say that for many people who have been unable to enjoy a break for so long, the possibility of a night in a hotel can’t come soon enough so we’re absolutely thrilled to be opening our doors to Welsh guests just in time for the long Bank Holiday weekend.

“Our teams have been training hard to get ready for reopening and are excited to give guests our famously warm Welsh welcome.”
