Eco Hotels, an incubation by Red Ribbon Asset Management, has revealed that it intends to roll out carbon neutral hotels across the UK and India with Muhammad Manan being appointed group CEO for the UK operations.
The group has two brands, Eco Premium and Ecolodge, which will offer carbon neutral hotels for guests. The brands will aim to deliver greener hospitality whilst conforming to the Covid-19 influenced changes in travel and hospitality.
Manan is a former property director and executive board member at the Olayan Group, one of the largest privately held real estate groups with a portfolio of more than 11,500 properties.
He brings more than 21 years of experience in real estate, hospitality and leisure with leadership roles in private and public businesses in Asia, Africa, the UK and Europe.
Previous roles include global franchise and group ops director for EasyHotel Plc, regional operations and customer experience director for Travelodge Hotels Ltd, senior property director for the Comet Group and brand director for IHG, Hilton International.
The group plans on rolling out up to 5,000 rooms in the UK and 5,000 rooms in India over the next five years with the newbuild properties being constructed using offsite construction methods and existing properties refurbished using green technology to achieve carbon neutrality.
Manan said: “Green hospitality is the future, and the two separate sub-brands (Eco Premium and Ecolodge) will redefine how other operators run their businesses.
“We will be expanding the brand into the BRIC countries after achieving critical inventory in the UK and India.”
Suchit Punnose, group CEO, Red Ribbon Asset Management, added: “Our vision for Eco Hotels is to create a premium hotel brand with a £1bn valuation that fully supports sustainable hospitality and living without compromising standards.”
