2020 has been such an eventful and for some, tumultuous year. The ongoing pandemic has caused so much disruption in our lives. While we have now learned so many new norms as a result of the virus spread and movement restrictions, one thing for sure that must not change is that we should maintain some semblance of normalcy whenever & wherever possible.
With Christmas and the year-end festivities coming up, we should at least take some time off and chill-out with family and friends. It’s a good time to re-bond with family and loved ones and of course, the best way to do this is over some good food. Don’t bother cooking, take a break from the kitchen and order some great grub. Ever since we tasted the food at The Butcher’s Table earlier (my review here), we’ve been wanting to revisit them. So, recently we went to their new outlet in Hartamas to check out what’s good and available on their Christmas Specials Takeaway menu.
Porky fans – you cannot go wrong with the Crispy Pork Knuckle (RM92). Well-marinated, meaty and skin crunchy with every bite, we particularly enjoyed the chewy tendon parts.
The Smoked Whole Chicken is a good alternative if you are not into turkeys. The lay-flat chicken comes with a generous portion of either Pork Chestnut or Pork Mushrooms stuffing. The stuffing is not the usual soft mushy type – it comes in the form and texture of meatloaf, which is really good! Very generous portion of stuffing, together with the whole chicken is priced at RM120.
While we were there, we couldn’t resist having their signature Salted Beef Brisket. This, together with their popular cured meats like Honey Baked Ham & Butcher’s Meatloaf (RM90/kg) are also available on the Christmas Takeaway Menu.
