Carnival Cruise Line Removes All Cruises in July for Bookings Except for 3 Ships

As cruise lines hope for a July return from U.S. cruise ports, Carnival Cruise Line has removed all July cruises except for those on three cruise ships for bookings.

Carnival Cruise Line now only has cruises on Carnival Breeze, Carnival Horizon, and Carnival Vista listed on their booking engine for July.  All sailings on other ships have been removed for the month.

Carnival has currently not canceled the cruises that they removed from their booking engine.  However, each time in the past when they have removed cruises they were canceled at a later time.

Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista homeport in Galveston, Texas while Carnival Horizon homeports in the Cruise Capital of the World, PortMiami. Carnival’s President Christine Duffy joined a rally today in Galveston that discussed the economic impact of the cruise shutdown.

Last week, the CDC gave the cruise lines some hope for a July return to sailings.  Cruises from U.S. ports have been shutdown since March 13, 2020.

In a letter to the cruise industry, the CDC said that they were hopeful that cruises could resume by mid-July.

While cruises from the U.S. have been shutdown for 14 months, cruise ships have been sailing in other parts of the world since last August.

Since then, over 500,000 passengers have safely cruised on ships with new health protocols added by cruise lines.  Ships are sailing at a reduced capacity and everyone is tested before boarding the vessel.  There have been no illness outbreaks on ships since sailings have resumed.

Cruise lines are hoping to implement the same health protocols for cruises from the U.S.

Over the next few months, over a dozen more cruise lines will restart service in the UK, Greece, Italy, Bahamas, Bermuda, Jamaica, and the Caribbean.

The cruises that Carnival now has listed for July are four and five day cruises to the Western Caribbean on Carnival Breeze, seven night cruises to the Caribbean on Carnival Vista, and a pair of six night cruises out of Miami on Carnival Horizon.
