The Grade II property, which was on the market for three months, dates back to 1855 and was originally built as a family home.
Most recently, the property had been operating as a 52-bedroom hotel. The site encompasses approximately 72.5 acres, accessed via a private driveway, and includes the main house, lawned gardens, a pagoda, lake and wooded areas.
Having been acquired by Avanti Foundation, a sponsor of state-funded Hindu faith schools in the United Kingdom, the hotel will now be converted to a multi-purpose educational and private events hire venue.
Gavin Webb, senior business agent at Christie and Co, who headed the sale, said: “I’m delighted to have completed the sale of Branston Hall. We were inundated with enquiries from the outset and as a result, we were able to secure a buyer and reach completion within three months of the property coming to the market.
“Branston Hall is an iconic property in the Lincoln area and the sale emphasises the demand for good quality freehold opportunities, which continues unabated. I wish the new owners the best of luck with their new acquisition.”
