6 Activities to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Home if You Can’t Join Us in Myrtle Beach

St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th is known for shiny pots of gold, Leprechauns, Irish traditions, and an abundance of green colors of all hues. In Myrtle Beach, we will be celebrating by taking a walk on the beach and enjoying our attractions and restaurants – all while wearing our green, of course!

Even with events slowly returning to normal, there are still several activities that your family can do at home to celebrate this lucky day! If you can’t join us in the Grand Strand this year, here are some suggestions on how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at home:

  1. Draw rainbows with chalk in the driveway or sidewalk – don’t forget the pot of gold and a Leprechaun at the end of the rainbow!

  2. Make green pancakes or waffles for breakfast. This is easy to do by adding green food coloring to the pancake mix. For a healthy twist, blend together a green smoothie with bananas, apple juice, fresh spinach, and pineapple.

  3. Look online to find a song played by Irish bagpipes. When played correctly, the bagpipes can be a fascinating instrument to hear!

  4. Wear as many green articles of clothing as possible so you don’t get pinched!

  5. For the adults – add green coloring to your favorite beer and enjoy the perfect St. Patty’s Day beverage.

  6. For dinner, make Irish Beef Stew, Shepherd’s Pie or find a local Irish Pub to try. There are several Irish restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area, such as The. Ole. Irish. Pub., The Old Bull & Bush Pub & Eatery, Finn McCool’s, O’Keefe’s Irish Pub or oceanfront Molly Darcy’s.

An old Irish saying that we hope rings true for you this St. Patrick’s Day is, “May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow. And may trouble avoid you wherever you go.”

Let’s wish on a lucky four-leaf clover that you can join us at The Beach for St. Patrick’s Day next year!
