12 Days of Christmas, Day 5: Take a Horse-Drawn ‘Sleigh’ Ride through scenic Market Common

The Market Common is a holiday hub this December, and we are loving it! The popular shopping/dining/entertainment area is hosting events all month long, including complimentary photos with Santa, The Polar Bus Express, happy hours with Santa, lunches, and bowling with Santa, and more. But one of our favorite activities this time of year is their horse-drawn ‘sleigh’ ride through The Market Common.

Every Sunday in December, you can take a break from all of your shopping and enjoy complimentary carriage rides from 3 to 6 p.m. Pick up and drop off is in front of Dolce Lusso Salon on the corner of Howard Avenue and Nevers Street, with the ride heading in one loop around a section of The Market Common. We love seeing the holiday decorations and hearing Christmas music as we make our way around, and my boys really do think it’s magical. And another perk is the location is perfect for a dinner out with tons of great restaurants after the ride!

We like that this activity is outdoors for many reasons, but social distancing must still be practiced while in line, and masks are required. Due to Covid-19 safety precautions, only members of the same family/party may ride together. Carriage rides are weather-permitting only, so head to The Market Common’s Facebook page if you have any concerns about possible cancellations. Otherwise, pack your warm hat and scarf and plan on enjoying the December night air at beautiful Market Common!
