12 Days of Christmas, Day 11: See a Live Christmas Show at a Myrtle Beach Theatre

It’s not Christmas at the beach without a visit to a live performance at one of our award-winning theaters! 2020 has been extra hard on live theaters everywhere, and the Myrtle Beach area was no exception. But thankfully, most live performance venues are open again with new safety measures in place. Wherever you go, you’ll experience reduced capacity, masking, extra sanitation and cleaning, social distancing and PLENTY of Christmas cheer. Here are a few of our favorite shows come the holiday season:

The Christmas Show of the South

The Christmas Show of the South at The Carolina Opry (8901 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach) begins in the stunning lobby of the expansive theatre. Every year, they top their Christmas decorations—the lobby alone features more than 35 Christmas trees and 5 miles of Christmas tree lights! This holiday show is a fan-favorite, and in its 35th year running. Guests will experience the talented vocalists and performers, including Delvin Choice (who was featured on NBC’s The Voice) and new castmate Rory John Zak, along with longtime beloved cast members Tangena Church and Brad Long—as well as the popular All That! clogging group. The Christmas Show of the South runs through January 6, 2021, and ticket prices start at $42. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit TheCarolinaOpry.com.

The South’s Grandest Christmas Show

The Alabama Theatre (4750 Highway 17 S, North Myrtle Beach) presents the beloved ‘The South’s Grandest Christmas Show’ again this year, a wonderful collection of both holiday classics and contemporary favorites performed by their all-star cast, including musician and singer Greg Rowles. Plenty of dancing and decorations galore take over the stage—in a production that families enjoy year after year. New for 2020 is the addition of comedic juggler, Slim Chance, who delivers plenty of laughs among crowds of all ages. The South’s Grandest Christmas Show runs through January 2, 2021, and ticket prices begin at $43. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit Alabama-Theatre.com.
